The United States Postal Service & Changing My Address
Today I decided I would do as I was told by the last attendant I had dealings with at the local post office & go on-line & change my address. So, I went on-line to the USPS website & went through all of the questions & filled in all of the information for my address to be changed, only to discover that when I reached the end of this process that I was being asked to enter a debit or credit card number so that the USPS could charge me a dollar to change my address. I had to read over this a couple of times to make sure that I was reading this correctly & that it was not some pop-up ad that I was looking at. NOPE!!! The USPS encourages you to change your address on-line now; yet they do not inform you that you will be charged a small fee to do this. Therefore, I decided that since I go by a post office frequently that I would just stop by it & pick up a "change of address" packet & simply fill out the "change of address" card that is inserted in the packet. So, I entered the post office & patiently waited for my turn to step up to the counter & ask the attendant for a "change of address" packet. He pointed behind me to a box that contained pamphlets on how to change your address on-line. I turned back around to face him & told him that I will not change my address on-line & refuse to pay a dollar to have my address changed. I told him that I would like the "change of address" packet that all post offices have in their branch. He looked around the room & acted rather dumfounded. He kept looking around as if he had no idea as to what he were looking for , only to discover the "change of address" packets neatly stacked in a file hanger to his left on the wall. He then attempted to discourage me from using the mail-in card to change my address b/c it would take 7-10 business days for it to get processed. He asked me where I was moving from. I told him where I was moving from, but stopped him as he continued to attempt to pursuade me to use the on-line system. I informed him that it was perfectly fine if it took 7-10 business days to process my "change of address" b/c my family will be more than happy to hold my mail for me until it gets changed. I informed him again that I refuse to pay money for an address change. He had nothing else to say & I said "thank you" & left; filled out my "change of address" card; & dropped it in the nice big blue postage box outside. So, just to let you all know that if you have to change your address in the future, consider stopping by the post office & requesting a "change of address" packet b/c these are filled with coupons for all kinds of places like LOWES, Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, & many more places. It is more of a welcoming packet for one being a new resident of the city & many of the local stores/companies will place coupons in them. You get alot more for changing your address that way than paying a dollar on-line & getting NO coupons. :) :) :)

December 1st & World AIDS Awareness Day
December 1st is World AIDS Awareness Day every year. I had planned to have an article to post on here for that day; however, with me having to pack & move from my condo, my hobbies such as writing short stories & blogging have had to get put to the back burner for the move to take place on time. Therefore, I wanted to let you all know that I will soon be posting a blog on the history of HIV & AIDS. It will also include several heart-touching stories from my own experieces with taking care of the many HIV & AIDS patients that I have had the gift from God to be blessed with to provide care to. It takes HIV & AIDS into a very different perspective when you are right there on the front-line providing care to the many people that have been stricken with this disease. Although it is not as deadly as it once was due to the improvement in medications & treatment, HIV still exists & very much so lives amongst us. So, within the next month I will be posting not only my blog post on domestic violence that I will be resuming work on once I've moved out of my condo; but, I also will be posting an article/true story on HIV & AIDS. I do so hope that you all will return to my blog to read the two fabulous & fascinationg postings that will be appearing on here soon. I wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS & a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! God Bless you all!!! <]:) <]:) <]:)

Enhancing, Loving, & Nurturing the Life of a Very Special Little Boy ~~ Benj
I was recently asked by Priscilla Gilman to write a book review on Amazon.com for her book entitled, "The Anti-Romantic Child: A Story of Unexpected Joy". I was immensely honored to have been asked by Priscilla to do this. Today I posted this review on Amazon & want to share it with you all, as well. This is truly a remarkable & touching story & journey of a precious little boy that is remarkable in every way with some needs having to be met differently than others. Priscilla & Benj's story is a story of unconditional love for a child & uncompromising determination to give that child a beautiful life. I highly recommend this book as a fabulous heart-warming read. Please read the review & enjoy. God Bless you all!!! ~~Ang~~
Priscilla has truly written one of the most heart-warming & touching books that I have ever had the pleasure to read. Being the mother of a special needs child, I could immensely feel the emotions that Priscilla expressed in the book in regards to the admiration, devotion, fear, & love that she has for Benjamin (Benj). A parent of a special needs child works so very hard to get him/her to progress to their highest potential without pushing him/her too far to where it may be above what he/she can handle. Priscilla shows such determination & motivation to do everything possible to make Benj's life accessible for him in the ways that he can tolerate & handle in his world.
She expresses in words & through the use of William Wordsworth's beautiful poetry, the true love that she has for Benj & his younger brother, James. She expresses with true intensity the feelings that a parent experiences upon learning that his or her child has a diagnosis that may limit he or she in society. She expressed this feeling in words so well, that I could literally feel the pain again that I felt on the day that my youngest son was diagnosed as deaf in both ears. I also could relate very well with her when she spoke of how her marriage began to deteriorate. My marriage deteriorated as well. To hear her express the emotions of disapointment & the pain that goes along with a deteriorating marriage & to have a child that needs you both is a very familiar emotion to me & I could relate so well with her descriptions of the feelings that she was experiencing during that time.
Priscilla writes of Benj in such a way that I feel as if I have literally met this wonderful, little guy. He is such a remarkable, little boy in so many ways & Priscilla has done an excellent job in detailing the hurdles that he has overcome & the immense achievements that Benj has accomplished.
I can sympathize with Priscilla in the worry that she has experienced & will continue to experience to a degree, regarding Benj possibly being bullied or picked on by other children, as I have had those same worries myself for my son. However, so far, I have been fortunate, like Priscilla, to have had some of the kindest instructors, baby-sitters, & other people that are involved in my son's life. My son, Ryan, is typically adored by all that encounter him, just as Benj has been. Through reading about Benj & his wonderful personality, he has to be like sunshine brightening up a dark day.
Priscilla describes the incredible and remarkable lengths that she has gone through to make sure that Benj's world is accessible & easier for him to venture through. I truly believe that no other person could have done any better at this than she has at making sure that her wonderful son gets just as good of a chance at a fruitful life & education as any other child would. She is truly a very remarkable woman.
As the reader of the book, you too will experience the intense love & dedication that she has for Benj. I can relate very well with her on this point also. My ex-husband & I have taken every advantage & opportunity that we can to enhance Ryan's world with him now having bilateral cochlear implants. Speech therapy has to be very intensive with him to learn to speak appropriately & I can definately relate with Priscilla when she speaks of the appointments to various physicians, therapy, & other faculties to aid our children.
Upon first learning of my son's diagnosis of being deaf, I cried, as most parents would do. I even asked God why my son had to be born deaf & why my sweet baby had to go through life with this disability? However, one day my father said, "Why not your child? Why would it be anymore fair for anyone else's child to be born deaf than your child?" It awakened me & made me realize that what my father had said was so very true. A realization came ot me then that God gave me this beautiful boy that was deaf because he knew that I would do whatever it would take to give him the most productive & enjoyable of a life as my older son Ethan or, for that matter, a life that any loving parent would try to provide for their child. What I just described, is exactly what Priscilla has done for Benj. Priscilla has gone to great lengths to get Benj the resources that he needs to have the capabilities to soar high in his life. I was amazed everyday that I picked up this book & read of the extraordinary & creative ways that she developed to aid & teach Benj.
I encourage you all to buy this book and read this wonderful tale of maternal love for a very special little boy. It will touch you not only in your heart, but down to your soul. Priscilla, what an uplifting & motivating book you have written. Thank you for inviting us into your world to experience this true story of unexpected joy!.

No One Wants to Look at a Carbon Copy of Themselves
Hanging on to someone by a STRING is not worth the "Waste of Energy" & the 'Waste of Your Precious Time" on Earth, when that person is NEVER going to have "GOOD, CLEAR, & DECISE" decisions for you. MOVE on BEAUTIFUL Angel & enjoy your time that God has provided you with & don't waste your time chasing a DREAM that is not the same "LIFE" plan of the other. Grab the scissors & cut that tiny "String of Hope" that you are holding on to & SET YOURSELF F-R-E-E from living life for someone else & doing almost everything in your life in hopes that this person will notice & see that you are like him/her; have your own likes or dislikes & not be restrained to try to limit yourself to what that person likes in order to feel you will gain the individual; have your own thoughts & feelings & express them. BE YOU!!! Don't try to be a "carbon copy" of what a man or a woman is just b/c you desire this person so badly in your life!!! Stand up for yourself & be your OWN beautiful being. That person is being their own beautiful being & isn't changing for you. So, you be your OWN person & be the person you were created to be, not a mold of another. LIFE is out there waiting for that next little individual cocoon to open up & a new unique butterfly to enter this world with his own different flap of the wings & his own desires as to where he will fly to & where he will land his magnificent beautiful wings upon. May God be with you & help you to know that you are a very SPECIAL, WONDERFUL, INTERESTING, CREATIVE, LOVING, PURE, SENSUAL, BEAUTIFUL, ROMANTIC, INTELLIGENT, & EVER-SO-LOVED being of God!!!
